I have interest in the area of aquaculture, as well as in the management and conservation of aquatic organisms, especially in neotropical fauna. My focus has been neotropical fish with great potential for aquaculture, but also with species of great importance to the aquatic ecosystem. I have applied tools of the molecular biology, especially microsatellites, transcriptome, Next Generation Sequencing and environmental DNA.

RESEARCH
The lionfish is currently the main threat to the biological diversity of coastal environments in Pernambuco. This proposal verifying the existence of connections and gene flow between previously established populations, and monitoring the invaded areas by eDNA. The information obtained will be crucial for decision-making and management of populations in the coastal region of the State of Pernambuco.
