INTERESTS IN RESEARCH
Population Genetics
Evaluate the evolutionary potential of neotropical fishes from Brazil, determining the levels of genetic variation, gene flow, effective population size, bottleneck and genetic structure.
1998 - 2004
Federal University of Ceará - UFC
Bachelor in Fishing Engineering (Engenharia de Pesca)
Transcriptome
Identify transcripts and/or candidate genes in marine and freshwater fish species facing anthropogenic and non-anthropogenic environmental challenges. For example, identify genes linked to adaptation to climate change, resistance to pathogens and sex-linked genes in Neotropical fish.
Environmental DNA
Apply the method of environmental DNA in the determination of biodiversity in lakes, rivers, streams, and oceans. eDNA is a new method that can be applied in the monitoring, management and conservation of aquatic resources.
